Pump Trainer Upgrade

The Revision 4 download is free to owners of the full-version Pump Trainer. This upgrade requires a fully-installed version of Revision 4 or 3 to function, or the original disc media.

The download file is a self-extracting executable file. After you download this file, execute it, following the on-screen directions. Your installation was successful if you start your program and see "upgrade, version 1.0 rev 4.00.19" on the opening screen. See Revision History for program modifications, and release notes for further information.

If you own the Revision 4 CD and have it installed, use this upgrade program immediately below. (If you have a previous upgrade version installed, uninstall it first using Control Panel|Add/Remove Programs.) Install the upgrade to your Revision Pump Trainer directory (The Full version installation default was c:\Program Files\Fg Pump Trainer 4 for Rev 4, or c:\fg01rev3 for Rev 3. This upgrade defaults to the Rev 4 default.)

Revision 3 owners:
  • Pump Trainer Revision 4 makes full use of the 32-bit operating systems of Microsoft Windows NT, 95, 98 and 2000, greatly enhancing sound and graphics display, while resolving incompatibilities of 16-bit software with 32-bit operating systems that exist on some computers
  • 48 MBytes RAM is recommended. Revision 4 will run with 32 MBytes RAM (memory), but the sound may be adversely affected. Windows 3.1 is no longer supported, as The Upgrade is a 32-bit application only
  • All Revision 3 files are compatible with Revision 4
  • Revision 3 will still operate after Revision 4 is installed
  • Microsoft® DirectX® is required. If you do not have DirectX® installed on your system, see the DirectX note at the bottom of this page

*DirectX: Pump Trainer 3 wav and MIDI sound has been converted to DirectSound, a component of Microsoft® DirectX®.   DirectX® was created by Microsoft to enable fast graphics and quality sound. DirectX® is downloadable (free) from the Microsoft® website at www.microsoft.com\directx . If you have purchased and installed computer games on your computer, it is likely that DirectX® is already installed. For Windows NT users, service pack 6 (SP3 may be sufficient), when installed, also installs DirectX®. For non-NT users, download the current DirectX® version (now 8.0a) from Microsoft Home User Downloads. DirectX must be installed on your computer to make Pump Trainer Revision 4 sound work.
